Part of the fun of Twitter is finding interesting people to follow on Twitter. Of course there are a lot of great people on Twitter who are well known for being great and have the follower numbers to show for it. Those people frequently show up on lists like Time Magazine‘s the 140 best twitter feeds of 2013. But there are a lot of interesting people to follow on Twitter who are largely unknown. The gallery below features profiles and recent tweets for 40 of the many interesting people to follow on Twitter, but all of the Twitter feeds listed have fewer than 10,000 followers. 11 of them have fewer than 1,000 followers.
I included people to follow on Twitter whose tweets seem like they should have a much broader appeal than their number of followers reflects. That is, I’m surprised that these people don’t have more Twitter followers. Only one of my people to follow on Twitter also made Time Magazine‘s list of best Twitter feeds.
These people’s tweets may be smart or funny or informative or bizarre. (Okay. The list may be a bit heavy on the bizarre. If you’ve seen my list of Pinterest Boards to follow you know my tastes skew a bit odd.) What everyone on this list has in common is that they are interesting people to follow on Twitter who could use more followers.
