I let Alice out and told her to run away.
I had a dream last night that I died and no one found the body for a long time and when they found me Alice had eaten my face. I don’t want to be remembered as the woman who died alone and her cat ate her face off, so I shoved Alice out the door. So long, cat!
She didn’t go anywhere. She meowed loudly. I peeked through the curtain and saw her walking back and front of the door. She’s always been an indoor cat. She had no idea what to do with freedom.
I yelled at her to go. I yelled so hard I started crying. I was on the floor with my head against the door crying, yelling at a cat. I could hear Alice meowing. Shut up, you stupid cat!
I cried harder when I realized how crazy I was acting.
I let Alice back inside. She purred and rubbed against my leg as if this were all perfectly normal. I picked her up and held her to my wet face. She hissed and jumped away.
I will make sure to leave out extra food on the 31st just in case.
