Today is the voter registration deadline for Illinois and a bunch of other states if you want to vote in the November 6th election. I have smugly been tweeting reminders to people to register to vote. You know, those other people who need such reminders. Then I saw something on Facebook about checking your voter registration status. I decided to check for fun only to find out that my voter registration is inactive. It looks like this was due to me not properly confirming something after my last move. I moved more than a year and a half ago.
I highly encourage you to check your voter registration status. Illinois residents can do so here.
If you need to update your registration here is the form for Illinois. It needs to be postmarked with today’s date to be valid for the November 6th election.
I just printed out a voter registration form and will be walking it to the post office as soon as I finish posting this.
UPDATE: The Chicago Board of Elections is open until midnight tonight for last minute voter registration. They are at 69 W. Washington Street, 6th Floor.
