My 25 most rewatchable movies of all time

Over the weekend* I saw a post from FiveThirtyEight supposedly listing The 25 Most Rewatchable Movies of All Time. They polled people and come up with a list that was topped by Star Wars, The Wizard of Oz, The Sound of Music, The Lord of the Rings, and Gone with the Wind.  As tends to happen with such lists there was a lot of disagreement online (specifically on Twitter). All the comments made me think about my most rewatchable movies of all time based on movies I’ve rewatched in the past. Here is what I came up with:

  1. Star Wars
  2. Casablanca
  3. All That Jazz
  4. Ferris Bueller’s Day Off
  5. Fight Club
  6. Gone With The Wind
  7. The Shining
  8. Bull Durham
  9. The Breakfast Club
  10. The Player
  11. Some Like It Hot
  12. To Have and Have Not
  13. Silence of the Lambs
  14. Breakfast at Tiffanys
  15. Kill Bill
  16. Singing in the Rain
  17. Reservoir Dogs
  18. On the Waterfront
  19. The Untouchables
  20. Desk Set
  21. Vertigo
  22. The Royal Tenenbaums
  23. Full Metal Jacket
  24. The Iron Giant
  25. Chicago

Ask me a gain later, and I’m sure at least a few of these (and definitely the order) would change. Plus, this doesn’t include movies I’ve only see once but am likely to watch again. For example, I’ve only seen it once so far I could see Wonder Woman joining this list at some point. (Read a spoiler free list of all the times the Wonder Woman movie made me cry)

What are your most rewatchable movies?

*The FiveThirtyEight list is actually from 2015, but they reshared it over the weekend, which resparked debate.
