Care for Real in urgent need of school supplies for Edgewater kids

Care for Real will distribute backpacks full of school supplies to kids in need on Tuesday, August, 13. Over 650 families have signed up to receive supplies but according to a recent email from Executive Director Lyle Allen donations have been low this year. Additional donations can be dropped off today, tomorrow or Monday.

According to Executive Director Allen Care for Real is most in need of backpacks, binders, spiral notebooks, pens, pencils and crayons. Donations can be dropped off at 5339 North Sheridan Rd (rear entrance) from 9 AM to 3:30 PM today or Monday or 9 AM to 12:30 PM tomorrow (Saturday).

If you cannot drop off a donation in person please consider a monetary donation, which will help Care for Real to buy any school supplies they still need after Monday. Donations can be made on the Care for Real website here.

I had a chance shop for and drop of donations yesterday. There are a lot of sales going on right now, so it’s easy to get a lot for your money. Drop off is easy, and your donation is tax deductible.
