Care for Real Toy Drive: Help Edgewater Kids in Need Have a Happy Holiday

Updated 11/30/2012

Bikram Hot Yoga Midwest (formerly Bikram Yoga Andersonville) and Listing Toward Forty are partnering to collect toys for needy children in Edgewater. The collected toys will be brought to Care For Real, Edgewater’s food pantry, for distribution to the families they serve.

Bring unused, unwrapped toys to Bikram Hot Yoga Midwest at 5715 North Clark Street between now and December 16th.

  • There will be a labeled container at the top of the stairs, outside the Bikram Hot Yoga Midwest lobby.
  • The building is open for drop offs from 6 am to 10 pm Mondays-Thursdays, 6 am to 8 pm on Fridays, and 8 am to 5:30 pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
  • In past years the toy drive has come up short for older children. Please consider a toy that would be appropriate for a teenager. Ideas include basketballs, footballs and board games.

For over 40 years Care for Real has served Chicago’s Edgewater neighborhood. Care for Real provides food, clothing and job assistance to neighborhood individuals and families in need of help.

Update: We now have an online option for the toy drive!

If you are unable to drop off a toy, please consider making a monetary donation. Online donations can be made here.
